How to make a telescope at home?






 

Making a refractor telescope requires the following things:

Objective lens- 50mm planoconvex achromat doublet lens with 70cm focal length

Eyepiece- 25mm wide field eyepiece

Eyepiece- 8mm multicoated (optional)

ITEMS TO BUY FROM LOCAL HARDWARE STORE

1 inch (32mm) PVC male threaded adapter

1 inch (32mm) PVC pipe - 4cm

1.5 inch to 1 inch (50-32mm) reducer

1.5 inch (50mm) PVC pipe - 30cm

2 inch to 1.5 inch (63-50mm) reducer

2 inch (63mm) PVC pipe - 56cm

2 inch to 1.5 inch (63x50mm) pressure reducing bush (8mm thickness)

1 inch bolt and nut 5mm thickness

M-seal small packet

Insulation tape

Spray paint can (optional)

MAGNIFICATION FORMULA

M= (Focal length of objective lens in mm / Focal length of eyepiece in mm)

For example, with 25mm eyepiece and 70cm focal length objective lens

Magnification= 700/25 = 28X magnification
